About Jon Spheeris
I am the owner and broker of Coldwell Banker Elite in Oconomowoc, WI, and have been a real estate broker for 48 years. Having lived in Lake Country for over 48 years, I am deeply rooted in this community. I also own Spheeris Land Development, LLC, through which I have developed over 30 single-family subdivisions, as well as some condominiums and commercial properties, primarily in Waukesha County. My passion lies in creating themed subdivisions where homeowners can take pride in their communities.
Our developments are designed to be cherished by both residents and the broader community. My family and I reside in one of our developments, Hunt Club Farms, in the town of Delafield. As an equestrian, I own our stable at Saddlebrook Farms in Oconomowoc, another development I created. I have been involved with American Saddlebred horses since I was 13, raising and showing them under the name Stonehedge Saddlebreds. Horses are not just a business for me; they are my hobby and passion.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am married to Lucine Spheeris, and we have been together for 33 wonderful years. We have two sons, Matt and Alex, and all three of us work together in our family businesses. We support each other in everything we do, complementing each other’s skills to achieve our shared goals. Our collaborative approach strengthens our professional endeavors and enriches our personal relationships.
Q: Please tell us about your life and what you do (whether working in our community, a business owner, volunteer, etc.). How did you choose that path?
I am the owner of Coldwell Banker Elite, located in The Avenue Square in downtown Oconomowoc, which I built, and I am also a co-owner of the building. I served as the Chamber of Commerce president for two years and was honored with the Citizen of the Year award. Additionally, I am a member of the finance committee for Journey 21 in Oconomowoc.
Q: What do you love most about what you do?
I take great pleasure in seeing the satisfaction of the buyers and sellers I represent in their real estate transactions. Our business can be challenging, and I am committed to helping our clients solve any problems that may arise. One of my clients once called me a “painless realtor” for making her home sale experience smooth and stress-free.
Q: What was the most difficult challenge in getting to where you are now or in your life?
Finding the right community to live and work in, as well as good partners to collaborate with, is essential to our success. While some government communities may initially be leery of developers, we strive to build strong relationships by demonstrating our commitment to creating outstanding subdivisions. Once they see our dedication to quality and the positive impact on the community, they are usually willing to work with us.
Q: What is the most rewarding part?
I find immense satisfaction in seeing my buyers and sellers happy with their real estate transactions. Additionally, I am passionate about developing great neighborhoods where people love to live. Creating vibrant, welcoming communities is at the heart of what I do.
Q: What are some of your future goals? Do you have anything exciting coming up that you would like to share?
We are excited to welcome our first grandchild, a boy, in October. This new addition to our family brings us immense joy and anticipation.
Q: What advice would you give to someone interested in doing something similar to what you have done/are doing?
“Treat people the way you want to be treated.” This simple yet profound principle guides me in all aspects of my life. Whether working with clients in real estate, developing communities, or caring for my family or horses, I am committed to this golden rule. This has helped me build lasting relationships and create a positive impact in my community.
Jon Spheeris & Our Community
Q: What is your favorite thing about our community, favorite thing to do, or something unique about our community that you love? (Feel free to share as much as you’d like!)
I love our Lake Country lifestyle – low keyed but so much to do, great historic communities, beautiful downtowns, lakes and parks.
Q: Who is an interesting person you’ve met here in our community, and how have they inspired you?

The Commodore Restaurant on Nagawicka Lake.
Q: What 3 words would you use to describe our community?
Upbeat, upscale and low keyed.

Q: What is your favorite book, TV show, movie, poem, or song? Why?
Seinfield TV show.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My family.

Kettle One Gimlet, with a lime and 2 olives.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Visiting the pyramids in Egypt.
Q: What makes you the happiest?
Seeing my family happy, seeing my young horses grow up and watching one of my good horses show.
Q: Any general life advice you would like to share?

Nice To Meet You:
I believe in positively impacting my clients and the community I live in, which is why I jumped at the chance to be an ambassador with “The Faces of Lake Country”. It’s a perfect blend of why I enjoy being a Realtor with Shorewest, Realtors, and everything I love about living in Lake Country.
I truly enjoy being a part of this community and helping others along the way. Prior to real estate, I was an Office Supervisor for the City of Waukesha Park & Recreation Department. During this time, I had the opportunity to work with many business owners and serve the general public. It was there that I realized that it really does take a village to make a community great and each and every one of us plays an important role.
