Drs. Brad and Vanessa Fritz are chiropractors with Chiropractic Company Oconomowoc. They met at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida in 2009 and were assigned to every class together in the four years they were enrolled and have been working together ever since! They were married in August, 2015, at Milford Hills and worked together as associates for a few years in Michigan after graduation. Then moved back to Wisconsin and opened their practice here in 2016. Brad and Vanessa Fritz both love the Lake Country area and the connection a small community has to offer.
Meet Brad and Vanessa Fritz
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
We were blessed with our first baby girl, Lenley, in 2019, who is now three and loves to read. Then we were blessed with another little girl in 2021, Tatum, who is 18 months and loves to do anything her big sister does.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Being in Chiropractic for about ten years now, it is always our goal to help our community stay healthy and active! We also love co-managing our patients with lots of great health care professionals and trainers in our area!
(Vanessa) – I have a postdoctoral certification in prenatal and pediatric care; it’s where I spend hours reading, talking, sharing – constantly looking for things to expand my knowledge to the families I work with. What makes me happiest is seeing people smile with relief after they get off my table, and helping the families of the many babies I see who are struggling and uncomfortable. Experiencing the journey of moms starting care through pregnancy to maintain a healthy pregnancy and delivery and treating their families as they grow over the years is a privilege to experience. I feel like I’m a part of some of these families. The most impactful days are the times I see parents coming into the office with a constantly fussy or crying baby, transition through being able to finally relax and cuddle in their arms and smile for the first time brings tears to their eyes. It’s life-changing. The trajectory of that child’s life is changed forever and I’m flattered to be a part of that.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
Vanessa was born and raised in Oconomowoc, and Brad is a Bay City, MI native. In 2016, we returned to Oconomowoc to open our practice together. We live in Oconomowoc and enjoy walking the trails and parks, stopping at local coffee shops for coffees and smoothies, visiting the farmers market and being active members in our church. You’ll find us outside in downtown Oconomowoc, whenever possible! Fowler and the neighboring parks are our favorites with so much to do within walking distance! We love our community!
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Whelan’s, Roots, and Bella Gusto
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
One of our patients is a fighter pilot and trains other pilots in our Country’s biggest and fastest aircraft. We also have a large population of Veterans that come into our office. It’s an honor to treat men and women who have served or are serving!
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
(Brad) – Jack Ryan. (Vanessa) – Friends and White Christmas
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Take care of yourself, but also take care of others. We only have a short ride here on this Earth, and we have been called to love one another.
Stay active and move! Sedentary lifestyles have a huge effect on our health. If we maintain mobility and strength as soon as possible and going forward, we will be a much healthier population for it!
Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Olympia Resort – we’ve watched the whole complex transition from across the street since we’ve moved here. The Kiltie – this was such a cool thing growing up as a kid to experience and such a fun tradition that is a flagship of summer in Lake Country!
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
(Brad) – Aaron Rodgers at Bella Gusto. So many questions!
(Vanessa) – JJ Watt or Tim Tebow – As someone local who has stayed very grounded to his roots, I’m curious how JJ Watt has maintained that persona with such grace through his success and how he knew it was time to pull back from the peak of his career to focus on his family. And the same for Tim Tebow, he’s not local but has had a very successful career and I admire his faith and missionary work. I’d pick anywhere to sit outside and eat lakeside – Panga, Foolery’s, Artisan 179, Lucky Chucky’s, etc.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
There are so many easy-access, picturesque places to be active! Walks around Fowler, our trail systems throughout the state, Lapham Peak views, paddleboarding on Upper and Lower Nemahbin. So many pretty places right outside our door!
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Continuing to serve our community and raising our daughters in Oconomowoc, and perhaps stepping into newer roles as our kids become school age and we meet different people and see different needs. Also continuing to learn about the things that inspire us; harnessing more experience in new techniques and research.
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
(Vanessa) – I’ve never used a bathroom on an airplane! lol
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Malcore’s “fresh” cheese curds.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
(Vanessa) – Jesus. (Brad) – My wife.
Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Family, friends, lakes.
