Grace Grocholski

Meet Grace Grocholski

Grace Grocholski is a young lady with many talents. Grace has played both varsity volleyball and basketball all four years in high school. She started playing basketball in first grade and volleyball at 8 years old.

Basketball is a sport that requires a unique combination of physical attributes, skill, and mental toughness. Many girls have played the game at a high level, but only a select few have truly shone above the rest. One such player is Grace, a remarkable basketball player who has won almost every award imaginable.

Grace is a force to be reckoned with on the court. Her skills and ability to read the game have helped her dominate the competition time and time again. She has consistently been a key player for her team, leading them to numerous victories, including two back-to-back state championships.

Over the years, Grace has won countless awards and accolades for her outstanding performance on the court. But perhaps her greatest achievement is her ability to inspire others, both on and off the court.

Grace’s work ethic is unparalleled. She has put in countless hours of practice and hard work to become the player she is today. She is also a natural leader, always encouraging and motivating her teammates to strive for greatness.

Off the court, Grace is just as impressive. Sports have always been a staple in her life; however, her schooling is equally as important, and she maintains a very high GPA. She is actively involved in her community, using her platform to give back and make a positive impact. Her dedication to helping others is truly remarkable, and it is clear that she is not just a great athlete, but a great person as well.

Grace’s talent and dedication have earned her the respect and admiration of basketball & volleyball fans around the state. She is a shining example of what can be achieved with hard work and perseverance, and her legacy will undoubtedly inspire younger generations of basketball players to come.

Competition

There is a saying in sports, “to be the best, you have to beat the best.” Grace Grocholski was first team all-state in volleyball and led Kettle Moraine to the Division 1 state semifinals. She has been named the Journal Sentinel’s female athlete of the year, was just anointed new scoring queen by becoming the area’s all-time leading scorer and is ranked Number 2 in the State of Wisconsin and Number 98 in the country for basketball.

Grace plans on attending West Virginia University next year on a full basketball scholarship.

All in the family

Grace’s parents, Gary & Tara Grocholski, also played division 3 sports, and her sister, Hailey Grocholski, is currently playing division 1 volleyball at Presbyterian College in South Carolina. It seems that her family has a long history of excelling in sports. The one thing that surprised me most was her support system. Not only do her grandparents come to every game, but her two great grandmas do as well. Grace spent a lot of time talking about how appreciative she is to have the greatest support system ever.

It’s not just about sports.

No doubt that volleyball and basketball are a very important part of Grace’s life.

Grace Grocholski’s accomplishments are impressive, and while sports are very important to her, she looks at life from a much bigger perspective. The one piece of advice she would give someone is to create goals but stay in the moment. Knowing what your goals are and how to achieve them is important, while also being able to live in the moment with others your age.

In spite of the publicity she has received, Grace remains humble and is appreciative for the things she has and the things she has accomplished, of which the list goes on and on.

Grace & Her Community

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

In the community I would say my favorite is Pacific Bistro.

Q: How long have you lived in our community?

I have lived in North Prairie, WI, around the Lake Country area for my entire life, 17 years.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

I hope to be a graduate assistant or an assistant coach. As the saying goes, if you love your job then you won’t work a day in your life. I hope to continue to stay in the gym with others like me.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

One local business that makes me nostalgic was Mama Mia’s. Although it is gone now, my family and I would always go there on certain occasions.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

My favorite thing about our community is how close it is to other ones. It gives the sense that everyone is together and when you go out you never know who you could see.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

My parents inspire me to be better every day.

After speaking with Grace, I can tell you she feels blessed and knows that her parents have put their lives on hold in order for her to fulfill her dreams and goals. I found this quote and it seemed so fitting:

“Parents are the ultimate role models for our children.  Every word, every movement, and action affects. No other person or outside force has a greater influence on a child than a parent.” – Bob Keeshan
