About Marni Persick

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

I am blessed with a 9-month-old beautiful baby boy named Archie, who is babbling and crawling! Such a fun age.

Q: Please tell us about your life and what you do (whether working in our community, a business owner, volunteer, etc.). How did you choose that path?

My journey into naturopathy was unexpected, as it wasn’t my initial calling. However, as the saying goes, God had different plans for me. Armed with a degree in Recreation Management from UWL, I embarked on a career as an Event Manager in California after college. It wasn’t until I began training for my first triathlon that my health took a drastic turn. Overwhelming fatigue, persistent stomach aches, and migraines became constant companions, prompting me to seek the guidance of a Naturopathic Doctor.

The treatment for parasites, adrenal fatigue, gene mutations, and more involved a nutrition and supplementation protocol. Astonishingly, within just three weeks, my symptoms significantly improved. This transformative experience led me back to school. I immersed myself in in-clinic hours with the same naturopath and eventually worked for her. When the COVID pandemic hit, I made the decision to return home to Lake Country and establish my own practice. Today, I operate a comprehensive family practice in Oconomowoc, addressing a spectrum of health issues, including hormonal, digestive, detoxification, and immune system concerns.

Q: What do you love most about what you do?

I love assisting individuals who feel hopeless about their health, it’s a genuine passion of mine. It’s incredibly fulfilling when people turn to me as their last resort, unsure of where else to find support. The satisfaction derived from positively impacting people’s health is unparalleled, as it genuinely transforms their overall quality of life.

Q: What was the most difficult challenge in getting to where you are now or in your life?

At the moment, my business consists of just me. I wear all the hats: naturopath, social media manager, admin, CEO, etc. So figuring out how to allocate my time, while balancing baby and family time, can be a struggle.

Q: What is the most rewarding part?

Being actively involved in the community and making a positive impact on lives in the process!

Q: What are some of your future goals? Do you have anything exciting coming up that you would like to share?

I aspire to establish a wellness shop that houses multiple practitioners and features a retail section specializing in herbal medicine and supplements.

Q: What advice would you give to someone interested in doing something similar to what you have done/are doing?

Seek out a mentor whom you can shadow! In mastering a craft, textbooks only take you so far; real-world experience is invaluable and irreplaceable.

Marni Persick & Our Community

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community, favorite thing to do, or something unique about our community that you love? (Feel free to share as much as you’d like!)

We love all the family-friendly events Lake Country has to offer. It seems like there is always something fun going on that my family wants to attend – a ski show, a summer concert, a parade. It really has that Hallmark movie feel!

Q: Who is an interesting person you’ve met here in our community, and how have they inspired you?

All the women at the Oconomowoc Chamber! They are the heart of our city and bring us all together!

Q: Do you have a favorite coffee shop, cocktail shop, or restaurant?

Whelan’s for coffee and Lago Su Bella for a nice dinner – both downtown Oconomowoc.

Q: What 3 words would you use to describe our community?

Connected, supportive, and inspiring.

For Fun

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

I am a twin! And if anyone out there is a twin, they know it’s just the most special thing! My twin brother is the coolest.

Q: What is your favorite book, TV show, movie, poem, or song? Why?

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – hilarious, relatable, and never gets old.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

My dad. He has a thriving Rolfing business. But the man has no social media, he’s not listed in the phone books, and doesn’t even have a website. So the impact he makes in person is enough to continually grow his business. Now that’s powerful!

Q: If you were a drink (can be a coffee drink, alcoholic, non-alcoholic, etc.), what would you be?

A vanilla latte with almond milk is my tried and true coffee order.

Q: If you could have lunch with anyone, who would it be with? Why?

Hippocrates – father of medicine.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

Take my mom on a beautiful Norwegian vacation – she is 100% Norwegian!

Q: What makes you the happiest?

My family, being near water, a good book in front of a fire, and healthy foods.

Q: Any general life advice you would like to share?

Be where your feet are. With our fast-paced world, it’s easy to always think about the next client or the next marketing opportunity. But the best way to truly be successful in business and relationships is to be present with what’s right in front of you.
