About Tia Hoffmann
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My family is the driving force behind my personal growth in all aspects of life. From a young age, my parents instilled in me the value of self-confidence and the importance of asking for what I want. They taught me that if I don’t ask, the answer can’t be yes. My husband is my steadfast support system. He’s always there to lend an ear and offer guidance whenever I need it. His motivation and encouragement fuel my ambitions, and I can’t imagine my life without him.
I am grateful to have been a part of my stepson’s life since he was just a year old. He possesses incredible kindness, understanding and respect, qualities that will undoubtedly lead him to great success in life. My eight-year-old daughter is like a mirror image of myself. Not only was she born on my birthday, but she also exudes the same vibrancy, courage, and determination that I do.
Last but certainly not least, my family is complete with the addition of my amazing and highly intelligent Dutch Shepherd, Lima. She is my cuddle buddy in the mornings, accompanying me during my coffee ritual, and she provides unwavering support whenever I need it. Although my upbringing may not have been picture-perfect, I am immensely fortunate to be surrounded by a select group of loved ones who offer unwavering support in everything I do.
Q: Please tell us about your life and what you do (whether working in our community, a business owner, volunteer, etc.). How did you choose that path?
About 15 years ago, a friend introduced me to the bridal industry, and I started doing bridal hairstyling as a side gig. However, my friend moved away shortly after, and I realized that this was my true calling. Determined to perfect my artistry, I began practicing on models, friends, and family. With a background in design, I understood the importance of creating a professional and recognizable brand. I built my website from scratch and started promoting myself to brides.
Just as my business was taking off, the pandemic hit. This unexpected turn of events presented me with an opportunity to expand my skills. Many brides were left without makeup artists for their big day, so I stepped in to assist in emergencies. As I gained experience, I also started building a makeup kit.
After the pandemic, I discovered that I had a newfound talent that would open doors to working with more clients and photographers. As word of my work spread, my books quickly filled up. I realized that I wanted to grow my business and provide opportunities to the talented freelance artists I had met along the way. Today, I have a team of 35 freelance hair & makeup artists who travel throughout WI. We proudly serve over 400 brides per year and are continuously expanding. I am honored to have such an incredible team in place.
Q: What do you love most about what you do?
What I love most about my work is the ability to have control over my schedule and maintain a healthy work-life balance. I find great joy in inspiring and supporting my team to grow and achieve their goals. One of the most cherished moments, although it doesn’t happen often, is witnessing the bride’s transformation when she puts on her wedding dress. Seeing the vision come to life in that moment is truly breathtaking and fulfilling.
Q: What was the most difficult challenge in getting to where you are now or in your life?
Although I’ve had numerous, amazing, positive experiences leading up to my success, I can’t deny that I faced my fair share of challenges. When I initially entered the industry, I was met with disapproval from established artists who looked down on me because of my newness and lack of experience. To gain traction, I had to promote myself at a lower price point than the industry standard, as I didn’t have a well-established reputation or portfolio at that time.
Surprisingly, instead of discouraging me, their skepticism only ignited my passion and determination to become a respected business owner and artist. In the beginning, my competition perceived me as just a hobby artist, completely unaware of my unwavering commitment to achieving greatness. I was determined to prove them wrong and let nothing hold me back. I embraced every challenge as an opportunity for growth and worked tirelessly to build my reputation and portfolio.
Slowly but surely, I began to establish myself as a reputable artist. Looking back, it’s satisfying to see how far I’ve come and how I’ve surpassed the expectations of those who doubted me. My journey has been one of continuous growth and learning, and I am proud of the success I have achieved. I will continue to push forward, embrace new challenges, and strive for even greater accomplishments.
Q: What is the most rewarding part?
Being a business owner and artist is incredibly rewarding because I am able to serve as an inspiring role model for my daughter. She witnesses firsthand the effort and commitment I pour into my work, along with the challenges I face and the joy I feel when new opportunities come my way. It is of utmost importance to me that she is confident in her ability to achieve anything she sets her mind to.
Q: What are some of your future goals? Do you have anything exciting coming up that you would like to share?
To be honest, I have countless future goals that keep me awake at night, strategizing my next major move. I have positioned myself as a reliable source of income for my artists, which pushes me to constantly work hard and ensure that their schedules are filled.
This year, my main focus has been networking with other professionals in the wedding industry to establish myself and be included in their preferred vendor lists. Our current objectives involve collaborating with clients beyond the bridal and photography sectors. We aspire to expand our range of work to include runway shows, pageants, editorial shoots, and print media. We are thrilled to announce that our company will be showcased on the cover and inside spread of the upcoming issue of Premier Bride magazine.
Q: What advice would you give to someone interested in doing something similar to what you have done/are doing?
If you’re passionate about something and want to pursue it, my best advice is to take action. Don’t over-analyze or wait for the perfect moment, just start now. Even small steps can lead to significant progress. Instead of getting caught up in the details, set achievable goals for yourself. And remember, don’t let anyone discourage you. There may be times when you feel unsupported, but don’t let that affect your determination to succeed. Keep pushing forward and stay focused on your goals.
Tia Hoffmann & Our Community
Q: What is your favorite thing about our community, favorite thing to do, or something unique about our community that you love? (Feel free to share as much as you’d like!)
My favorite thing about Lake Country is the small town events. I just love events in the summer like the the Pewaukee Beach Party. It’s so important to support local small businesses at these events and be able to sample their services and foods. I love going on the water, whether paddle boarding or boating.
Q: Who is an interesting person you’ve met here in our community, and how have they inspired you?
I had the pleasure of meeting and developing a deep admiration for Dr. Natalie Peters from Lake Country Aesthetics Health & Wellness. She has not only inspired me to become a better business owner, but she has also enlightened me about the beauty of aging gracefully while prioritizing a healthy and natural skincare routine. Through her commitment to her children, faith, and business, she has taught me valuable lessons on maintaining a well-balanced lifestyle.
Q: Do you have a favorite coffee shop, cocktail shop, or restaurant?
My favorite Lake Country hang outs are Artisan 179, Palmers Steakhouse and The Golden Mast.
Q: What 3 words would you use to describe our community?
Proud, Respected, Emerging.
For Fun
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I have high standards when it comes to the people I let into my life. I surround myself with individuals who inspire and motivate me, pushing me to become a better person. I can be a bit reserved with strangers, but once I open up to you, it’s for a lifetime.
Q: What is your favorite book, TV show, movie, poem, or song? Why?
I have a deep fascination for crime thrillers, and I thoroughly enjoy watching TV shows and movies in this genre. As for music, it is my true passion and an integral part of my life. I appreciate a wide range of genres, except for heavy metal and rock. Some of my favorite artists include Jason Aldean, Justin Timberlake, and Halsey.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
God.
Q: If you were a drink (can be a coffee drink, alcoholic, non-alcoholic, etc.), what would you be?
If I were to embody a beverage, I would most closely resemble a Bloody Mary with ALL the fixings. It flawlessly captures my fiery and bold nature, while also exuding a rich and indulgent essence. Just like this meticulously crafted cocktail, I am a fusion of various elements that reflect my multifaceted personality and unique traits. The inclusion of lemon and lime symbolizes the hurdles I’ve encountered along the way. Despite the sourness they may bring, these experiences have served as valuable lessons for personal growth. And just as the maple flavored bacon provides a touch of sweetness to balance the spiciness, I too possess a harmonious blend of contrasting qualities.
Q: If you could have lunch with anyone, who would it be with? Why?
If I could have lunch with anyone, it would be my mother, who passed away when I was six years old. Despite her struggles with drugs and alcohol, and her shortcomings as a mother, I would want her to know that I have grown into an incredibly inspiring woman. Throughout the years, I have faced numerous challenges and have grown tremendously to become an exceptional wife, mother, and business owner. I would want to tell her that I hold no hurtful feelings toward her for her parenting choices. She did the best she could with the circumstances she faced. I am grateful for the lessons learned and believe that I am exactly where I am meant to be.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I would love to go to a Country Music Awards Show.
Q: What makes you the happiest?
Seeing my daughter, Hayden, smile and laugh out of true genuine happiness.
Q: Any general life advice you would like to share?
Don’t let anyone or anything hold you back from your goals.

Nice To Meet You:
I believe in positively impacting my clients and the community I live in, which is why I jumped at the chance to be an ambassador with “The Faces of Lake Country”. It’s a perfect blend of why I enjoy being a Realtor with Shorewest, Realtors, and everything I love about living in Lake Country.
I truly enjoy being a part of this community and helping others along the way. Prior to real estate, I was an Office Supervisor for the City of Waukesha Park & Recreation Department. During this time, I had the opportunity to work with many business owners and serve the general public. It was there that I realized that it really does take a village to make a community great and each and every one of us plays an important role.
