Beth Ingersoll was born and raised in Oconomowoc, and is a 1999 graduate of Oconomowoc High School. She left the area to pursue a degree in Elementary Education at Central College in Pella, Iowa before returning back to the area to start her career in teaching. Beth worked in a variety of elementary schools before landing a position at Lake Country School in Nashotah, where she taught mostly 5K for 15 years. From there she transitioned into the world of school leadership and took on the Associate Principal role at Pewaukee Lake Elementary. She is currently in her third year as the AP at PLE and everyday brings a new adventure and challenge. Having the opportunity to work in a building with over 700 4K-2nd grade students and a large, dedicated teaching staff has been a unique and rewarding experience.
About Beth Ingersoll
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband, Brad, and I live on his family farm with our two children, Noah and Avery. Noah is currently a senior and Avery is a freshman at Oconomowoc High School. Brad is Deputy Fire Chief for the Western Lakes Fire District.
Q: Please tell us about your life and what you do (whether working in our community, a business owner, volunteer, etc.). How did you choose that path?
Being around people has always been a big part of my life. My Mom is a retired educator and her dedication and passion for teaching is a large reason why I chose the path I have.
Q: What do you love most about what you do?
Everyday is something new which is the number one reason I love my job. Working in a school filled with 4-8 yr olds, the excitement and energy they bring into the building everyday is magical. I am also incredibly lucky to work with a large staff who put their students first and will do anything to help see their kids succeed.
Q: What is the most rewarding part?
By far the most rewarding part of my job is seeing the excitement our students have for the learning they do everyday. They celebrate every new skill they and their classmates achieve no matter how big or small.
Q: What advice would you give to someone interested in doing something similar to what you have done/are doing?
Education is a marathon, not a sprint. Your students will become a part of your daily world and you have to have a passion for the position.
Beth Ingersoll & Our Community
Q: What is your favorite thing about our community, favorite thing to do, or something unique about our community that you love? (Feel free to share as much as you’d like!)
A favorite thing of mine is walking around the lakes of Oconomowoc. Growing up by Fowler Park, it was the norm to take a stroll around the lake on any given day. Now, living in the Town of Concord, I miss getting the chance to do that as often.
Q: Do you have a favorite coffee shop, cocktail shop, or restaurant?
My husband and I love to spend time at The Etcetera in downtown Oconomowoc.
Q: What 3 words would you use to describe our community?
Engaging, exciting, strong.
For Fun
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
In grade school, my Mom was my 5th grade teacher.
Q: What is your favorite book, TV show, movie, poem, or song? Why?
Not sure I can pick a favorite book as I’ve read a lot of them lately. To list a few: The Women by Kristin Hannah, The Funeral Ladies of Ellerie County by Claire Swinarski, and the Inheritance Games series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My parents, family and the students I support have always been an inspiration to be better.
Q: What makes you the happiest?
Finding time to be out on the farm walking, hiking and just enjoying quiet time with my family.
Q: Any general life advice you would like to share?
Choose a job someday you’re passionate about. When you genuinely enjoy what you do, it stops feeling like a chore and starts feeling like a purpose. Every job will have its tough days, but if you love it those tough moments will be easier to navigate.

Nice To Meet You:
I believe in positively impacting my clients and the community I live in, which is why I jumped at the chance to be an ambassador with “The Faces of Lake Country”. It’s a perfect blend of why I enjoy being a Realtor with Shorewest, Realtors, and everything I love about living in Lake Country.
I truly enjoy being a part of this community and helping others along the way. Prior to real estate, I was an Office Supervisor for the City of Waukesha Park & Recreation Department. During this time, I had the opportunity to work with many business owners and serve the general public. It was there that I realized that it really does take a village to make a community great and each and every one of us plays an important role.
