Jason & Natasha Wedl

Meet Jason & Natasha Wedl, the husband-and-wife team behind the scenes at Waterford Wine & Spirits.
Jason Wedl is the General Manager of Waterford Wine & Spirits and brings over 20 years of experience in managing high-end country clubs, luxury hospitality operations, and food and beverage programs. With a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and service, Jason has spent his career curating memorable guest experiences rooted in quality and attention to detail.
Jason’s love for wine started early in his hospitality journey, but truly took shape through years of hands-on exploration, tastings, and cellar work. His favorite region is Oregon’s Willamette Valley. He has a particular passion for elegant, expressive Oregon Pinot Noirs and values their balance, texture, and sense of place. Whether he’s curating a tasting lineup or guiding clients toward new discoveries, Jason brings an approachable expertise that makes wine feel both accessible and exciting.
Natasha Wedl is the Marketing Manager with a background that blends creativity, entrepreneurship, and small business grit. A graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a degree in photography, Natasha began her professional journey interning for the Baltimore Orioles before launching two successful dog walking companies. She later built Lake Country Dog, LLC, a dog daycare, boarding, and grooming facility in Wisconsin that she scaled into a six-figure business before selling it.
Her marketing skills were developed through real-world experience, business ownership, and a strong ability to understand what truly connects with people. Natasha leads Waterford’s marketing efforts with a sharp, creative eye, designing campaigns, events, and partnerships that resonate with customers and drive results.
Together, Jason and Natasha Wedl have worked side by side for years, whether running their own businesses or helping grow Waterford Wine & Spirits. Their partnership is built on shared values, complementary strengths, and a passion for delivering exceptional wine experiences to their community.

About Jason & Natasha Wedl

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

Jason and Natasha share Natasha’s 13 year old son-Reilly, Jason’s step-son and 2 very goofy goldendoodles, Softy & Cozey, aka Cozette.

Q: Please tell us about your life and what you do (whether working in our community, a business owner, volunteer, etc.). How did you choose that path?

They both really love cooking together, in fact, Jason proposed to Natasha in their kitchen. Jason loves to golf when he gets some spare time, and Natasha loves going on walks with her dogs and does yoga when she can.

Q: What do you love most about what you do?

For Jason, it’s the full story of wine, from the soil and agriculture, to the reverence of terroir, and the rich history and the people behind every bottle. He finds joy in connecting guests to wines with depth, character, and a true sense of place.

For Natasha, it’s the creativity. She loves having the freedom to dream up fresh ideas and bring exciting events to life, building experiences that connect people, spark curiosity, and bring the community together through wine.

Q: What was the most difficult challenge in getting to where you are now or in your life?

For Jason, it was navigating the uncertainty of the pandemic. Every day brought new changes, new rules, and new challenges. It forced a complete shift in how things were done. But in that chaos, there was also opportunity. It pushed him to think creatively, to adapt quickly, and ultimately helped him grow into a more resilient and effective business manager.

For Natasha, it was starting her doggy daycare business from scratch. What began as a dream turned into a crash course in entrepreneurship. With no formal background in business development, she taught herself how to write a business plan, secure financing, present to city council, and handle every part of running and marketing a small business. It was an all-consuming effort that meant long hours and constant learning, but it also laid the foundation for everything she does today.

Q: What is the most rewarding part?

For Jason, it’s seeing customers return again and again—not just because they love the wine, but because they feel confident and comfortable exploring new things. Helping someone grow from a curious shopper to a knowledgeable wine lover is incredibly fulfilling.

For Natasha, it’s watching her ideas come to life and seeing the joy they bring to others. Whether it’s a sold-out tasting or a brand-new event concept, the real reward is knowing her creativity made someone’s day a little more fun, exciting, or memorable.

Q: What are some of your future goals? Do you have anything exciting coming up that you would like to share?

For Jason, it’s all about continued growth, both personally and professionally. He’s focused on nurturing the success of Waterford Wine & Spirits while also chasing a few personal milestones, like traveling to all 50 states with his family, they’re just over halfway there, before their son, Reilly, heads off to college. And of course, there’s the goal of getting down to a 5 handicap in golf.

For Natasha, she’s excited to keep riding this unpredictable, creative wave that is marketing. She hopes to keep growing, learning, and dreaming up new ideas that bring people together. Most of all, she’s focused on soaking up every bit of time she can with Reilly before those college years sneak up, holding onto the little moments while continuing to build something meaningful.

Q: What advice would you give to someone interested in doing something similar to what you have done/are doing?

Jason says: Ask questions. Read. Try things. Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty. The best way to grow is to stay curious and be willing to figure it out as you go. Mistakes will happen, but that’s where the real learning begins.

Natasha adds: Take chances, even if your background doesn’t line up perfectly with your goals. You don’t need a degree in your chosen field to succeed. I certainly didn’t. Like Jason said, stay curious. Teach yourself. YouTube and Google can be powerful teachers if you’re willing to put in the time. Trust your instincts and don’t wait until you feel 100% ready, just start.

Jason & Natasha Wedl & Our Community

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community, favorite thing to do, or something unique about our community that you love? (Feel free to share as much as you’d like!)

Jason loves that our area strikes the perfect balance. It has the culture, energy, and amenities of a bigger city, but with the heart and friendliness of a small town. Whether you’re talking wine, food, or everyday life, people are genuinely kind and open. It’s a place where connection still matters.

Natasha finds her favorite moments in the everyday interactions, the familiar faces at the local hardware store, the small business owners who remember her and her son, and the supportive network of entrepreneurs who lift each other up. She loves that sense of community, especially after years of building relationships through Lake Country Dog and now through Waterford Wine & Spirits. It’s the kind of place where people truly know each other and care.

Q: Who is an interesting person you’ve met here in our community, and how have they inspired you?

One person who stands out to both of us is Rick, a longtime client and passionate wine lover. His deep appreciation for aged wines is inspiring, not just because of his knowledge, but because of his genuine desire to share that love with others. He approaches wine the way it should be enjoyed: patiently, thoughtfully, and generously. Jason admires Rick’s depth of knowledge and his willingness to open up special bottles, not to show off, but to create connection and conversation. Natasha agrees, and adds that beyond the wine, it’s Rick’s gentle nature and quiet kindness that leave a lasting impression. He represents the best of our community, curious, generous, and deeply kind.

Q: Do you have a favorite coffee shop, cocktail shop, or restaurant?

Waterford Wine & Spirits, obviously! But other than that we love ID in Delafield for a quick cocktail and appetizer, as well as Lago Su Bella, and always brunch at Belfre.

Q: What 3 words would you use to describe our community?

Jason: Friendly, cultured, welcoming. Natasha: Supportive, connected, genuine.

For Fun

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

Jason: I golf right-handed but putt left-handed. It throws people off every time, but hey, it works for me!

Natasha: I was a preemie, just 2 pounds, 5 ounces at birth! It’s wild to think how far I’ve come from that tiny start.

Q: What is your favorite book, TV show, movie, poem, or song? Why?

Jason: The Wire is hands down my favorite TV show. It’s real, raw, and brilliantly written. It didn’t shy away from complexity or truth, and that kind of storytelling has always stuck with me.

Natasha: It’s hard to choose just one! The Princess Bride will always have a special place in my heart. It’s how I imagined love would feel, romantic, silly, and sincere all at once. It gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling every single time I watch it. But if I had to pick another, Miss Congeniality is a close second. It was one of my favorite movies to watch with my dad, and it always reminds me of those fun, feel-good moments we shared.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

Jason: My wife. She inspires me every single day. She challenges me in the best ways, encourages me to grow, and reminds me of the importance of staying curious and passionate about what I do. Whether it’s in our personal life or working side by side at Waterford, she brings out the best in me and pushes me to keep striving for more. I’m a better man because of her.

Natasha: My son, Reilly. I don’t think anything else needs to be said. As much as he wants me to be proud of him, I want him to be proud of me, too. He’s my daily reminder to keep growing, keep showing up, and keep leading by example.

Q: If you were a drink (can be a coffee drink, alcoholic, non-alcoholic, etc.), what would you be?

Jason: Black coffee. It’s simple, strong, and exactly what I want first thing in the morning. Honestly, I drink it all day. No frills, just reliable and essential.

Natasha: I go back and forth between two. A Shaken Espresso—just a little wild, very caffeinated, and full of energy. Or a vodka martini, straight up. Clean, classic, and crisp with a touch of boldness. It depends on the day.

Q: If you could have lunch with anyone, who would it be with? Why?

Jason: My friends. We don’t see each other nearly enough, and sharing a meal with them would be a simple but meaningful way to reconnect. Sometimes it’s those everyday moments with the people who know you best that matter the most.

Natasha: Pablo Picasso. I’ve always admired the way he saw the world. He didn’t care if the sky was green or the grass was blue, he challenged convention and embraced creativity without hesitation. I’d love to hear about what inspired him and how he found the courage to express himself so freely.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

Jason: To eventually move out to Oregon and spend more time in the home we have there. It is a place that brings me peace, and I would love for it to become part of our everyday life.

Natasha: I want to visit all 50 states within the next five years. After that, my dream is to travel the world with Jason and Reilly. I want to explore new places, experience different cultures, and create unforgettable memories together as a family.

Q: What makes you the happiest?

Jason: The thought of slowing down and truly enjoying the beautiful life we have built together. There is something incredibly fulfilling about stepping back and appreciating the family, the work, and the everyday moments that make it all worthwhile.

Natasha: Jason, Reilly, and my puppies are my whole world. They are the center of everything I do. But if I am being completely honest, what really makes me happiest is when Jason or Reilly feed me. There is something about being handed a snack or a meal, completely unprompted, that just fills my heart. It is love in its purest form. Especially when the dishes are cleaned up!

Q: Any general life advice you would like to share?

Jason: The only thing better than a glass of wine is a bottle. Life should be enjoyed and shared. You do not need to wait for the perfect moment. Sometimes the best memories come from simply opening the bottle and being present.

Natasha: Take chances and do not be afraid to fail. Failures are not setbacks. They are just part of the process. Every experience moves you forward, even if it does not feel like it in the moment.
