About Jennifer Kinley
Hi! I’m Jen and I am the Founder of Seedling Debut Ultrasound, where my heart is rooted in celebrating life from the very beginning. I am a wife, mom, worship leader, entrepreneur, and have an affection for chips & salsa.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have a big family and we are loud, wild, and a whole lot of fun. I have been married to my husband, Joe, for 18 years and together we have five children ages, 15, 15, 11, 7 & 7.
Q: Please tell us about your life and what you do (whether working in our community, a business owner, volunteer, etc.). How did you choose that path?
I’ve spent most of my life in Lake Country, growing up in Hartland and attending Hartland schools from kindergarten through high school. My family and I have since settled in the Kettle Moraine area, where we now call home. I’m the proud owner of Seedling Debut Ultrasound, established in 2021, and also serve as a worship leader and a coach for youth sports. Seedling Debut was born out of my own personal journey to motherhood. I understand firsthand that the path to becoming a mom isn’t always easy, and that experience shapes the compassion, care, and intention I bring to every family I serve.
Q: What do you love most about what you do?
Caring for and serving moms is truly my passion. I cherish every opportunity to connect with families and share in the joy of seeing their little ones for the first time or even the tenth time. Now that I have been running this business for a handful of years, I now get to debut siblings.
Q: What was the most difficult challenge in getting to where you are now or in your life?
Overcoming fear. I was fearful to take the risk – the risk of trying something new and the risk of letting go of my well-established career. God did not give me a spirit of fear. Some risks are definitely worth taking.
Q: What is the most rewarding part?
Being a part of someone’s story is one of the greatest honors of my work. I’m invited into some of life’s most meaningful moments. Seedling Debut may be a small part of the journey, but it leaves a lasting, meaningful impact.
Q: What are some of your future goals? Do you have anything exciting coming up that you would like to share?
I am so excited to share that Seedling Debut will be offering breast, thyroid, pelvic screening ultrasounds as well as other small body parts. We really feel like there is a need in our community to have preventive screening options without insurance limitations.
Q: What advice would you give to someone interested in doing something similar to what you have done/are doing?
You’re never too old to follow your dreams and don’t let fear keep you from following through. As cliché as that sounds, it is very true. When you have passion and you keep your faith at the center of it, the opportunities are endless.
Jennifer Kinley & Our Community
Q: What is your favorite thing about our community, favorite thing to do, or something unique about our community that you love? (Feel free to share as much as you’d like!)
I love how there is so much community in Lake Country! I love attending parades, live music in the summer with friends, taking walks in nature and around the beautiful lakes. Lake Country has some hidden gems: If you’re a soup-lover like myself, you have to visit Dousman House in Downtown Dousman. They have such a variety on the daily and if what you want is not on the ready-menu, check to see if they have it in the freezer and buy them by the pint!
Q: Who is an interesting person you’ve met here in our community, and how have they inspired you?
I can’t name just one! My husband and kids inspire me to be a better person each and every day.
Q: Do you have a favorite coffee shop, cocktail shop, or restaurant?
Whelans in Oconomowoc and Mama D’s in Wales.
Q: What 3 words would you use to describe our community?
Charming, Beautiful, Collaborative.
For Fun
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I’m pretty competitive. It tends to come out in a quick game of H-O-R-S-E… or a game of CATAN. My brothers would probably agree with this statement.
Q: What is your favorite book, TV show, movie, poem, or song? Why?
I like many genres. For books, I enjoy a solid mystery. For music, I love some good ‘ole country music. Take me to Nashville — I could listen to music all day.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My husband and kids.
Q: If you were a drink (can be a coffee drink, alcoholic, non-alcoholic, etc.), what would you be?
Oatmilk latte. It’s a little sweet, but still packs a punch.
Q: If you could have lunch with anyone, who would it be with? Why?
Jesus. That would be one incredible conversation!
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Taking my kids to Europe, specifically Czechia. If you come to my studio, I will tell you why!
Q: What makes you the happiest?
Spending time with my family.
Q: Any general life advice you would like to share?
Big leaps start with small, intentional steps.
