Every great idea starts as a dream — a spark of “what if” that refuses to go away. For Scott and Angie, that dream was born out of everyday life as parents and a desire to make things better for families in their community. They took an idea, believed in it, and put in the work to turn it into something real. What began as a vision became a valuable resource built with purpose, passion, and follow-through — proof that when you trust your dream and see it through, it can grow into something that truly serves others.
We are Scott and Angie, parents and lifelong members of the community, and the creators of LakeCountryKids.com. Built by parents, for parents, LakeCountryKids.com is a local resource designed to help families easily find activities for their children all in one place. Our Class page saves families time and stress by allowing them to filter activities by age and interests, while highlighting the many great programs, classes, and opportunities available throughout the community. Our Calendar page features free and low-cost daily activities, and our Private Lessons page helps parents connect with one-on-one instructors tailored to their child’s interests.
About Scott & Angie Maass
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
We’ve been married for 12 years and have three energetic boys ages 7, 4, and 1. Our kids keep us busy and grounded, and they’re a big part of why we do what we do. You can usually find us at local parks, activities, or events around the community.
Q: Please tell us about your life and what you do (whether working in our community, a business owner, volunteer, etc.). How did you choose that path?
We are the owners of LakeCountryKids.com, a website designed to help families easily find activities for their children. Like many parents, we experienced firsthand how overwhelming it can be to track down classes, sports, and programs. We created Lake Country Kids to save families time, reduce stress, and make it easier to discover all the great opportunities available right here in our community.
Q: What do you love most about what you do?
We love knowing that our work genuinely helps families. Hearing that we’ve saved parents time, helped kids find activities they love, or connected families with local programs makes it all worthwhile.
Q: What was the most difficult challenge in getting to where you are now or in your life?
Balancing business ownership with full-time jobs and family life has been the biggest challenge. Building something meaningful while raising young children requires flexibility, patience, and teamwork.
Q: What is the most rewarding part?
Seeing the positive impact on families and the community. Knowing that we’re supporting local organizations while helping parents and kids is incredibly fulfilling.
Q: What are some of your future goals? Do you have anything exciting coming up that you would like to share?
We hope to continue growing Lake Country Kids, expanding the resources available to families, and strengthening connections throughout the community.
Q: What advice would you give to someone interested in doing something similar to what you have done/are doing?
Listen to your community, stay focused on helping others, and don’t be afraid to start small. Consistency and genuine care go a long way.
Scott & Angie Maass & Our Community
Q: What is your favorite thing about our community, favorite thing to do, or something unique about our community that you love? (Feel free to share as much as you’d like!)
The people and the opportunities for families. There is always something to do, and there’s a strong sense of support and pride in the community. Specifically, we love all the different sports programs; baseball, tennis and soccer are big in our house!
Q: Who is an interesting person you’ve met here in our community, and how have they inspired you?
Kelly from Studio One in Wales has been incredibly inspiring. Her hard work, dedication, and commitment to both her business and the community clearly show how much of an impact one person can make. She’s a great example of how passion and consistency can positively shape both a company and the community around it.
Q: Do you have a favorite coffee shop, cocktail shop, or restaurant?
We love supporting local spots and enjoy exploring different family-friendly restaurants and coffee shops throughout the area. Our favorite place for weekend breakfast is Sunny Side Up in Dousman.
Q: What 3 words would you use to describe our community?
Family-focused. Supportive. Welcoming.
For Fun
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
We thrive in chaos, which is why we can’t seem to stop adding things to our plate!
Q: What is your favorite book, TV show, movie, poem, or song? Why?
Make Your Bed by Admiral William H. McRaven. It’s a simple but powerful reminder that small, consistent actions can lead to meaningful change — both personally and in the community.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
Our kids motivate us to keep improving.
Q: If you were a drink (can be a coffee drink, alcoholic, non-alcoholic, etc.), what would you be?
A strong cup of coffee.
Q: What makes you the happiest?
Watching our boys do things that they love.

Support your community, prioritize family, and remember that small efforts can make a big difference.
