In a season of life often misunderstood and underestimated, Dianna Sullivan is changing the narrative. Rather than viewing midlife as an ending, she sees it as a powerful awakening — a time of rediscovery, purpose, and renewed possibility. With compassion, insight, and a deep understanding of life’s transitions, Dianna inspires women to embrace this chapter not as a slowdown, but as a meaningful and transformative encore.
Some call it midlife, but Dianna Sullivan beautifully reframes it as an encore — a powerful next chapter rooted in resilience, wisdom, and the richness of lived experience. As the founder of Ignite Your Encore, Dianna extends a heartfelt invitation for women to step out of survival mode and return to their authentic selves. Her work gently guides successful women through deep inner transformation, helping them release limiting beliefs shaped by past experiences and rediscover their passion, joy, and sense of aliveness. Through a thoughtful blend of coaching, energy healing, and brain-based rewiring, she empowers women to see that midlife is not a decline, but a turning point — a time of reclaiming their voice, their purpose, and the opportunity to rise more fully and intentionally than ever before.
About Dianna Sullivan
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I’m the proud mother of two daughters. My oldest is 18 and currently in college, stepping into her independence and discovering who she is becoming. My youngest is 16 and deeply passionate about both lacrosse and theater — a beautiful balance of strength, discipline, creativity, and self-expression. Watching them grow into confident, capable young women has been one of the greatest joys of my life. They constantly remind me of the importance of living authentically and doing the inner work, not just for ourselves, but for the generations we’re raising.
Q: Please tell us about your life and what you do (whether working in our community, a business owner, volunteer, etc.). How did you choose that path?
I’m the founder of Ignite Your Encore, where I help successful women in midlife free themselves from limiting beliefs and invisible mind prisons created by past survival experiences. My work blends coaching, energy healing, and brain-based rewiring to help women move from feeling numb or unfulfilled to feeling alive, aligned, and connected to who they truly are. Before this work, I spent 15 years building and running a successful business, while quietly doing my own inner healing in the background. Losing my sister to suicide — a beloved former teacher at Summit Elementary School — deepened my commitment to emotional well-being and the importance of inner work, but it did not begin my healing journey. It reinforced what I already knew to be true: that unaddressed pain can exist even beneath outward success. Today, my work is heart-led and purpose-driven, centered on helping women reclaim themselves and recognize that midlife is not an ending — it’s an invitation to begin again.
Q: What do you love most about what you do?
What I love most is witnessing women go from feeling numb, flat, or disconnected to feeling alive again. Many of the women I work with are incredibly successful on the outside, yet quietly unhappy on the inside — and they’ve normalized that as “just how midlife is.” Seeing the moment when their light turns back on, when joy, desire, and passion return to their bodies and lives, is everything to me.
Q: What was the most difficult challenge in getting to where you are now or in your life?
The most difficult part of my journey has been my own healing. I’ve had to confront deep personal pain, including the loss of my sister to suicide, and face patterns created by survival, trauma, and responsibility at a young age. I had to unlearn strength that came from coping and replace it with strength rooted in truth, softness, and self-trust. That work was uncomfortable, but necessary — and it’s what allows me to guide others authentically.
Q: What is the most rewarding part?
The most rewarding part has been healing my own life and rediscovering my passion — and then watching that ripple outward. Knowing that my personal healing now helps other women free themselves from limiting beliefs and invisible mind prisons is deeply meaningful. I’m not just teaching this work; I’ve lived it. It is my mission.
Q: What are some of your future goals? Do you have anything exciting coming up that you would like to share?
I’m excited about expanding Ignite Your Encore through deeper one-on-one work, becoming a sought-after keynote speaker, and hosting intimate, high-impact retreats for women in beautiful, soul-nourishing environments. My vision is to create spaces where women can fully reconnect to themselves — mentally, emotionally, energetically, and spiritually.
Q: What advice would you give to someone interested in doing something similar to what you have done/are doing?
Don’t bypass your own healing. Your lived experience is not a weakness — it’s your greatest qualification. Do the work you’re asking others to do. Trust that your authenticity will attract the right people, even if it feels slower or scarier at first.
Dianna Sullivan & Our Community
Q: What is your favorite thing about our community, favorite thing to do, or something unique about our community that you love? (Feel free to share as much as you’d like!)
What I love most about my community is the depth. These are women who are successful, intelligent, and capable — yet willing to be honest, vulnerable, and growth-oriented. There’s a shared understanding that life can be both powerful and soft at the same time.
Q: Who is an interesting person you’ve met here in our community, and how have they inspired you?
I’m deeply inspired by my group of five “mom friends.” We met when our children were young and involved in scouting. Over the years, we’ve grown into career women, mothers, and leaders — supporting one another through life’s transitions. Their loyalty, strength, and shared evolution remind me how powerful long-term female support truly is.
Q: Do you have a favorite coffee shop, cocktail shop, or restaurant?
Fishbones – I love the atmosphere and the delicious food.
Q: What 3 words would you use to describe our community?
Supportive. Feminine. Empowered.
For Fun
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I took up ballroom dancing at age 52. I do it because I love movement, being in flow, and the experience of being led. It’s been a beautiful way to reconnect with my body, joy, and femininity.
Q: What is your favorite book, TV show, movie, poem, or song? Why?
I’m torn between the movie Peaceful Warrior and the book The Four Agreements. Both deeply reflect how I live and teach — with presence, integrity, and conscious choice.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
The women I work with inspire me to be better every day. They are intelligent, accomplished, and deeply capable, yet willing to look honestly at themselves and do the inner work required for real change. Watching them choose truth over comfort, healing over avoidance, and aliveness over numbness continually challenges me to live what I teach and lead with integrity. Their courage, vulnerability, and willingness to grow remind me that transformation is always possible — at any stage of life.
Q: If you were a drink (can be a coffee drink, alcoholic, non-alcoholic, etc.), what would you be?
If I were a drink, I’d be a rich cup of ceremonial cacao — heart-opening, grounding, and designed to help people feel more present, connected, and alive.
Q: If you could have lunch with anyone, who would it be with? Why?
If I could have lunch with Oprah Winfrey, it would be because she represents the power of turning lived experience into wisdom and using one’s voice to help others heal and awaken. Her ability to hold space for deep conversation while reaching millions aligns with the work I’m called to do.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
One of the biggest things on my bucket list is to host transformational retreats for women in Costa Rica. I envision intimate, soul-nourishing experiences surrounded by lush greenery, warm ocean air, and the natural rhythms of the land — a place where women can truly unplug from responsibility and reconnect with themselves. These retreats would blend coaching, energy healing, nervous system regulation, and deep reflection, held in beautiful spaces that invite presence, embodiment, and rest. Costa Rica feels symbolic to me — a place of renewal, balance, and pura vida — making it the perfect environment for women to soften, heal, and remember who they are beneath the roles they carry. My hope is that women leave these retreats not just refreshed, but fundamentally changed — clearer, lighter, and more alive — carrying that transformation back into their lives long after they return home.
Q: What makes you the happiest?
What makes me the happiest is seeing people — especially those over 40 — lit up and passionate about life again. There’s something incredibly powerful about watching someone rediscover joy, purpose, and aliveness after years of responsibility, routine, or self-suppression. Seeing that spark return reminds me that it’s never too late to feel deeply, dream boldly, and live with intention.
Q: Any general life advice you would like to share?
Don’t ignore the quiet voice inside you that says something isn’t aligned. Just because a life looks successful on the outside doesn’t mean it feels fulfilling on the inside — and that inner knowing matters. Give yourself permission to slow down, feel honestly, and do the inner work before life forces you to. Healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken; it’s about remembering who you are. And it’s never too late to begin again, if you want it.
