About Brittany Richer

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

My husband is employed at the Walbec Group, and our son, Carter, is currently a sophomore at Sussex Hamilton. Our family also includes three lovely pets: a yellow lab named Bruce, a black lab named Jax, and a tiny chihuahua named Lucy.

My husband and I make a concerted effort to be the “cool parents” for our teenage son most of the time. During the summer, you’ll frequently find us out on our boat, enjoying the waters of Pewaukee Lake. In the winter, I indulge in hobbies like working on puzzles, painting, and knitting hats.

Q: Please tell us about your life and what you do (whether working in our community, a business owner, volunteer, etc.). How did you choose that path?

Family is the center of my world, and I cherish every moment spent with them. Whenever I find some free time, I am passionate about assisting those in need within our community.

Additionally, I play an active role in managing the Waukesha & Milwaukee County childcare page and a Waukesha & Pewaukee for-sale page, engaging with these online communities to help facilitate various needs.

Q: What do you love most about what you do?

Being a mom is the most fulfilling and rewarding role I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t exchange it for anything in the world.

Q: What was the most difficult challenge in getting to where you are now or in your life?

During my younger years, I faced numerous challenges. Raised by a single, hardworking mother, I experienced the determination and sacrifice that went into giving us the best life possible. I became a teen mom, juggling the responsibilities of parenthood while working two jobs. Despite these obstacles, I managed to graduate college with honors. Much like my mother, my child served as my unwavering motivation, propelling me forward through those challenging times.

Q: What is the most rewarding part?

One of the most demanding yet profoundly fulfilling chapters of my life was the opportunity to care for my beloved grandmother during her final year, which was just last year. She had been the most wonderful grandmother, always supporting and encouraging me throughout my life. In those last few months we had together, we engaged in meaningful conversations about life’s lessons and shared countless laughter over cherished memories. It was an absolute privilege and honor to be by her side, providing care and comfort during those precious moments as she reached the end of her remarkable life.

Q: What are some of your future goals? Do you have anything exciting coming up that you would like to share?

I am sponsoring another blanket drive for “Street Angels” in November.

Q: What advice would you give to someone interested in doing something similar to what you have done/are doing?

Even the smallest act of kindness has the power to brighten someone’s day and make a significant impact in their life. It’s a reminder that compassion and empathy have the ability to create a ripple effect of positivity and warmth in the world.

Brittany Richer & Our Community

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community, favorite thing to do, or something unique about our community that you love? (Feel free to share as much as you’d like!)

The charm of a small town with it’s close-knit community and the emphasis on outdoor activities is truly special. It’s a lifestyle that often brings a sense of peace, a strong connection to nature, and a genuine sense of belonging. Embracing the outdoors allows for a unique opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the natural world while fostering a strong sense of community spirit. Living in a small-town atmosphere has undoubtedly enriched my life in many meaningful ways.

We love ordering from Noah’s on the weekends!

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

I wear a hearing aid as a result of a condition called cholesteatoma. I’ve undergone several surgeries to address this condition, and a significant portion of the bones in my ear had to be removed as a part of the treatment.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

My husband.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

I dream of acquiring a sizable piece of land to create a sanctuary where senior dogs can find a warm and nurturing home during their golden years. My goal is to offer a safe and loving environment where these dogs can enjoy their well-deserved retirement.

Q: What makes you the happiest?

My family, animals, and nature!

Q: Any general life advice you would like to share?

Show kindness! It has no price tag, yet it can hold immeasurable value for someone.
