Tabi McBride

Tabi McBride is from Hartland. In fact, she and her husband were high school sweethearts at Arrowhead High School. They have two sons who both also attended Arrowhead, so they have been a part of the community for quite some time. She has been in the restaurant and bar industry for more than 35 years, and loves customer service.

About Tabi McBride

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

Sean, my husband, and I have been married for 33 years and have 2 wonderful adult sons that will help out if needed. We are blessed to have a fiance and a girlfriend of our sons who also help in the business when they can.

Q: Please tell us about your life and what you do (whether working in our community, a business owner, volunteer, etc.). How did you choose that path?

Owning Tabi’s Lake Country has allowed me stay connected in the community I grew up in. I currently sit on the board for Downtown Business Improvement District, I volunteer on a few of the committees that support the community, as well as other businesses.

Q: What do you love most about what you do?

I really enjoy being with people. I love to meet and serve all of our guests. Our establishment has become like second family to me – both the team I work with and those who come in to visit.

Q: What is the most rewarding part?

To see the atmosphere we have created here, with everyone saying they feel comfortable coming in with a group or even alone. I also love seeing friendships being built here with the team and guests that meet others here.

Q: What are some of your future goals? Do you have anything exciting coming up that you would like to share?

I want to continue to grow with our community. I look forward to some new things to do with other businesses. We are always planning new things and events.

Q: What advice would you give to someone interested in doing something similar to what you have done/are doing?

I’d say make sure you love it. I’ve always said “if you truly love what you do you will not work a day in your life”. Have faith.

Tabi McBride & Our Community

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community, favorite thing to do, or something unique about our community that you love? (Feel free to share as much as you’d like!)

I love the quaintness of our community. It feels like one big family. Lake Country offers lots to do with very little “travel”.

Q: Who is an interesting person you’ve met here in our community, and how have they inspired you?

I would say the Hartland Chamber and the BID have inspired me most. Not necessarily one person but the 2 groups collectively have given support to all businesses in the area.

Q: Do you have a favorite coffee shop, cocktail shop, or restaurant?

I have a lot of favorites, too many to choose just one.

Q: What 3 words would you use to describe our community?

Strong, Supportive, Family.

For Fun

Q: What is your favorite book, TV show, movie, poem, or song? Why?

Joyce Meyer.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

God.

Q: What makes you the happiest?

Family & Friends.

Q: Any general life advice you would like to share?

Live your life: Good, Better, Best… Always choose Best.
