Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

My wife and I are empty nesters, but manage to keep busy with a wide range of activities including travel. We have two children, a daughter who lives in Appleton and works at Anytime Fitness and a son who supports our community by being in law enforcement.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

I enjoy playing my accordion for many different events, and find it very rewarding. There were always lots of interesting stories to share with my family during the 26 years I worked at the DMV conducting road tests. I was in the military, stationed in Seward, Alaska with the U. S. Coast Guard, and also worked with Milwaukee Search and Rescue. The Air Force and National Guard experience lead me to actively participate with the American Legion Post #1.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

The Crossings, The Coop.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

Over 30 years.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

I can`t think of just one person at this time.  Overall, our community is very friendly and supportive.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

New Amsterdam. It’s amazing to me how much you can learn about advances in medical technologies by watching a TV show. Another show my wife and I have been watching regularly since the 1980’s is General Hospital 🙂 No judgements please!

Q: What advice would you give to people?

Live every day to the fullest as you are able. It can change in an instant. I currently work at Krause Funeral homes and this message hits home regularly. Live each day to its fullest!

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

Park Ave Pizza in Pewaukee is a unique restaurant that used to be a former movie theater. I love the atmosphere and vibe.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

Mollie B, the multi-instrumentalist, award-winning vocalist, and host of the Mollie B Polka Party TV show, from theater to musician, she was also featured at Milwaukee’s Polish Fest. We would probably eat at The Crossings. Another good listener is Mark Krause, he is easy to talk with.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

As a resident of Springdale Estates for over 30 years, it’s always interesting/entertaining to help people find where they’re going, because every street ends in WOOD. I am regularly helping delivery drivers who get “lost in the woods” of Springdale Estates.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

My wife and I put some of our travel plans on hold during the recent health scare. We love meeting new people and have plans to travel to England, Scotland, Normandy, and France. Once we visit these countries, a new list of adventures will take us further.

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

I have entertained with my music in Italy, Germany, Greece, Norway, Ireland, Mexico, and here in the U.S. I was in the military for 22 years and the Honor Flight I took in November of 2021 was a powerful experience. The “Mail Call” on the plane ride was very memorable and well organized (this is where family and friends write personal letters to the veteran, who reads them with a Guardian). I have also been in the Color Guard for the American Legion Post and in many parades.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?

My wife and family. Also… a good Vodka Martini on the Rocks, with Pizza!!!!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

It has to be the great support of my wife.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?

Family, Love and Laughter, lots and lots of Laughter. Even my daughter says so!
