Meet Dr. Kathryn Connor, a family and restorative dentist at Wales Family Dental. Dr. Connor has a diverse background in dentistry and a strong commitment to providing the best care for her patients. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, she attended Marquette University School of Dentistry and developed a passion for Wisconsin. She furthered her education and experience by completing a general practice residency at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Dr. Connor’s professional journey includes 5 years in a group dental practice in Louisiana and 2 years in private practice in Wisconsin. In 2017, she opened Wales Family Dental, where she continues to provide dental care.
What sets Dr. Connor apart is her dedication to relationship-based care. She embraces the concept of “cura personalis,” which emphasizes caring for the whole person. This approach allows her to understand her patients as individuals, considering them not just as dental cases but as people with unique needs and goals for their oral health.
Her team prides themselves on their commitment to staying at the forefront of dental education and technology to deliver state-of-the-art care. Outside of the office, Dr. Connor enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband and three kids. She’s an active parent, often attending and cheering at various sports events, such as soccer, basketball, football, and lacrosse. In her free time, she likes to engage in outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, and camping. Dr. Connor’s commitment to both her professional and personal life reflects her dedication to providing comprehensive care and creating strong relationships with her patients.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband, Shane and I, have a very active family life, with three kids who are heavily involved in sports. Managing a busy schedule can be quite a juggling act, but it’s wonderful to support our children’s interests and activities. It’s a great way to encourage them to stay active, develop teamwork and discipline, and make lasting memories together. Whether we’re cheering them on from the sidelines or shuttling them to and from practices and games, it’s all part of the adventure of parenthood.
Q: Please tell us about your life and what you do (whether working in our community, a business owner, volunteer, etc.). How did you choose that path?
I consider myself fortunate to have the opportunity to provide dental care to the wonderful individuals who visit Wales Family Dental, conveniently situated along Highway 18.
Q: What do you love most about what you do?
I LOVE getting to know my patients and helping them make decisions about the oral health choices that work best for them.
Q: What is the most rewarding part?
Working in my community and developing relationships is the best part of my job.
Q: What advice would you give to someone interested in doing something similar to what you have done/are doing?
Work hard, give your all and treat others like family.

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community, favorite thing to do, or something unique about our community that you love? (Feel free to share as much as you’d like!)
Wales is a tight knit community where neighbors still help each other out. My favorite thing is seeing my patients visit with each other on their way into/out of my office. Everyone is so friendly, and the sense of community is strong!
Q: Do you have a favorite coffee shop, cocktail shop, or restaurant?
I love Black Canyon and Mama D’s!

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I’ve lived in 5 different states, but I am so lucky to now call Wisconsin home!
Q: What is your favorite book, TV show, movie, poem, or song? Why?
I love The Greatest Showman- the songs are incredible, and the story just really reminds me of what is most important in life.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My parents passion for their work inspires me to give my best every day.
Q: If you were a drink (can be a coffee drink, alcoholic, non-alcoholic, etc.), what would you be?
Coffee- if you’ve met me, you know I’m doing all the things, all the time and cannot live without my coffee.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I would love to visit Alaska someday.
Q: What makes you the happiest?
Being with my kids and my husband.
