Meet Erin Guenterberg! Erin is the owner and manager of Lake Country Family Fun (LCFF, LLC). She is a wife to Brandon, and a mother to two daughters. Erin and her husband are both originally from southeastern Wisconsin and despite moving to other areas for college, they were drawn back to this area when they married.
Lake Country Family Fun provides resource guides to best experience the Lake Country area. The information is dispersed through social media outlets including Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram. The company has over 280 clients, including Kwik Trip, Fleet Farm and Children’s Wisconsin. Along with LCFF staff, Erin does charity drives for organizations such as Chosen, and she participated in a holiday tractor ride from the Ingleside Hotel to downtown Waukesha to spread holiday cheer and deliver gifts to those in need through the Christmas Clearing Council of Waukesha County.
Erin has lived in Ixonia for 13 years. She and her family spend most of their free time in the summer enjoying lake activities and all that this area has to offer. We’d like to thank Erin for taking a few minutes to talk with us about her Lake Country life.
Question: What inspired you or led you to your current career?
Answer: “I have a background in social work and became a stay at home mom. I purchased LakeCountryFamilyFun.com from Melissa Peterson four years ago, which was something I wasn’t anticipating, but it’s been a great fit for my family and me.”
Q. What is your favorite restaurant in Lake Country, and what do you love there?
A. “Twisted Fire, my husband and I really enjoy it. I’ve tried a lot of their menu and the chipotle maple glazed salmon is my favorite.”
Q. Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Lake Country?
A. “Deanna Marincic. Deanna has a fascinating social work background, working in the area of mental health. She is very community focused and is the owner of Gals Institute. We meet for coffee regularly and support each other.”
Q. What advice would you give a crowd of people?
A. “Just do it. Prioritize your life and whatever your dream is, just do it. I never anticipated owning a business, but I decided to jump in with both feet and said ‘let’s go’.
Q. What is something on your bucket list?
A. “To travel internationally with our kids when able. I’d particularly like to make our way to Europe.”
Q. What current / former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Lake Country?
A. “Wholly Cow in Delafield. It’s a nostalgic ice cream place that opens every summer, which offers anticipation and tradition.”
Q. Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative: with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? Where in Lake Country would you have lunch?
A. “Sara Blakey, she’s the creator of Spanx. I follow her and her husband on Instagram, and she is funny, driven, real, inspiring, and a mom. If you don’t already follow her, start! I’d have some shared plates with Sara at I.d. in Delafield.”
Q. Even for friends or family, what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A. “When I was a high school senior, I was in the pre-game and half time shows at the Orange Bowl in Miami as part of the All American Dance Team.
Q. If you were cast into a major motion picture and had your choice of anyone to be your co-star, who would you choose?
A. “Mila Kunis.”
Q. If you had a full time staff member that was fully paid for, who would you choose? A Chef, Housekeeper, Driver, Life Coach, Physical Fitness Trainer, or Nanny?
A. “A driver, 100%. I hate driving!”
