Meet Peggy Olson
She is known as Positively Peggy! Peggy Olson is happily married to her husband, Darren, and is obsessed with their mini-Golden Doodle Finley! They don’t have any kids but they are the best uncle and auntie to their family and friends’ kids. Peggy is a digital marketer and loves cultivating and inspiring the people around her to be their absolute best at what they do!
It’s no secret that taking time out of your busy life to give back to your community is a good idea, but for some people, giving back is not only second nature but also their life’s mission.
I recently spoke to Peggy Olson and she has done some amazing things in her local community. The goal of raising $1.5 million dollars to save a piece of property in the City of Oconomowoc was an enormous undertaking, but not for Peggy Olson. This was one of her proudest accomplishments, now known as the John and Lavinia Rockwell Park. Peggy was on the fundraising committee. She was in charge of all the marketing to help gain awareness on why it was so important as a community to purchase this property. Along with so many other committed volunteers, they were able to raise $1.5 million during covid. What an accomplishment that was!
Peggy Olson’s main mission is to improve her community. She hopes to expand her efforts to do more to help others and the community she lives in.
This is what one of her nominees had to say:
“Peggy is an amazing asset to the Lake Country Community. A champion of promoting local business and industry, you will often find her on social media sharing about new places to check out. She has been an Oconomowoc resident for more than two decades and is heavily involved in many of the downtown events and happenings. She is passionate about fitness, Peggy shares her talent teaching fitness classes at BE, and Barre at Hansings. Like the Visa slogan rightfully states: “She’s everywhere you want to be”. She is truly the embodiment of the Lake Country lifestyle.”
Recognizing Peggy Olson
Peggy has recently been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Delafield Chamber of Commerce. The following is the speech given by Megan Braatz of the Chamber in her honor: “This award recognizes an individual who has made a significant impact to the organization through showing dedication, consistent action and determination to the success of the organization. This person has given time, vision, dedication and commitment to the organization and is the best of the best. This person has played an instrumental part in the growth and success of the Chamber and of my own personal growth and successes. I want to personally thank her, for all she has taught me, had my back, cheered me on for events I thought were never going to happen, and always being a great role model to me and for the entire board each year. She will be missed (but promises to stick around!).”
